what is going on?
Nationally, 3.2 million teens, or one in five, have admitted to abusing prescription medication at least once. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has classified prescription drug abuse as an epidemic. More and more teens are abusing prescription medications everyday and without teen education these numbers are expected to rise. The abuse of Prescription Drugs can lead to a number of problems and can take a toll and any teenager. People have came together to create organizations and different groups to inform teenagers and their parents about the problems and effects of prescription drugs. The abuse of prescription medications at the adolescent level is an increasing problem that has legal, physical, and social effects, but this issue must be addressed and the public must be informed on what is going on with teenage prescription drug abuse and how parents can help prevent their children from using prescription drugs.
